The first ZCCD Wrietrs Exchange was at Public Pool for the Kumusha exhibit.  ZCCD invited Steve Hughes with the Good Tyme Writer's Buffet (Detroit) and Tawanda Mudzonga (Harare) to both curate in writers from their respectful regions to read each other’s
writings. On October 5, 2013, Detroit writers read the works of the Zimbabwean writers in Public Pool.

Then on January 31, 2014, Zimbabwean writers read the work of Detroit writers at Delta Gallery in Harare seen live through skype in Detroit at ZCCD during the Kunusha exhibit in Zimbabwe.
